We are delighted to share the exciting news that Talking Tortoise, our leading marketing and PR company specialising in tourism attractions industries, has recently become the latest trade member of the National Farm Attraction Industry (NFAN). This partnership marks a significant milestone in our commitment to supporting and enhancing the farm park community.

So, what is NFAN?

Established in 1996, NFAN stands as the only independent co-operative for farm and rural attractions, with a membership exceeding 200 farm establishments. The organisation is dedicated to providing professional support and assistance across various areas, fostering collaboration within the farm attraction industry.

NFAN traces its roots back to 1996, thanks to the vision of Jim Keetch, a Farm Park owner in Weldon, Northants. His pioneering efforts laid the foundation for NFAN, which continues to be a prominent voice for the farm park industry. 

NFAN members, including Talking Tortoise, play a crucial role in offering enjoyable and educational experiences to families and schools across the UK. With 219 farm attraction members, NFAN collectively welcomes a staggering 25 million visits annually. Farm attractions are a thriving and growing sector in the UK tourism economy. The farm parks in the group contribute significantly by employing over 13,000 local individuals. 

In 2012, NFAN played a key role in creating the Industry Code of Practice, ensuring proper interactions between visitors and farm animals. The organisation further enhanced its commitment to animal welfare by launching the Animal Attraction Assured Scheme in 2018.
