A popular family attraction in Durham is launching a brand-new summer festival as part of an extended calendar of annual events. It is hoped that the festival will attract up to 2,000 people each day, becoming a key part of the attraction’s events calendar which already comprises events at Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
The festival is set to take place over the weekend of Saturday 10th August and Sunday 11th August, with tribute acts dedicated to Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix and Taylor Swift taking the stage at scheduled times throughout the weekend. The festival will also be hosted by popular children’s entertainer, Joe Banana who is renowned for his high-energy antics.
Local artists including The North East Rock Choir, North Tyneside Steel Band and Durham’s Samba Band will also take the stage during the weekend.
Visitors to the festival will also have the opportunity to explore almost 50 acres of farmland as part of the festival; enjoying tractor rides, meeting the farm’s animals whilst also seeing more unusual activities such as meditation and yoga.
Janine Calzini, owner of Adventure Valley said, “We’re delighted to be launching our new Summer Family Fun Fest in our fourteenth anniversary year. We’ve crafted an exciting itinerary for the whole family with everything from face painting to meditation and breakdancing demonstrations to live DJs. We also have some amazing tribute acts. If you couldn’t get tickets for the Taylor Swift tour then seeing her tribute act might be the next best thing.”
“We have many loyal families who visit the park and our seasonal events throughout the year. Parents trust Adventure Valley as a safe place where their children can play freely, have outdoor fun, and create special memories and we’re really keen to build upon this reputation with our Summer Fun Fest. School holidays can be expensive for families, so we wanted to create a value-packed event where families can enjoy a full day of unique experiences, including their first live music event together.”
