To make this birthday even more special, we want you to get to know Lilly even better, and so we’re bringing you a unique celebration with a Q&A to get to know her.

Tell us a bit about yourself, what’s your name, how old are you today and what’s your role at Talking Tortoise?
My name is Lilly Gallagher, I am 19 years old today and my role here at Talking Tortoise is a marketing assistant on an apprenticeship scheme.
How long have you been a part of the team?
Today marks my 1 month anniversary of being part of team tortoise.
What inspired you to join the company?
I wanted an apprenticeship in digital marketing because everything is online in the present day, and I have a passion and interest to grow and gain more knowledge about digital marketing and the team at Talking Tortoise is so lovely in pushing me and helping me achieve that.
Can you describe a typical day in your role?
No two days are the same, and I love coming to work and not quite knowing what to expect. Some days I’m in the office creating content, other days I can be out and about visiting clients, in meetings, creating content at zoos or at events or training sessions.
What projects or tasks are you currently working on?
Currently, I’m creating different social media posts for LinkedIn and brainstorming TikTok ideas for one of our clients.
What are your passions outside of work? Do you have any hobbies or interests that might surprise your colleagues?
Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and going to new cities.
Share a favourite memory or moment from your time at the company so far.
My favourite moment so far was getting to hold the pancake tortoises at All Things Wild as I never even knew they existed. They are so cute.
What do you enjoy most about working with your colleagues?
My favourite thing about working with my colleagues is how friendly and supportive they all are.
Birthday wishes are all about dreams. What’s one professional dream you’re working towards this year?
My professional dream within the company is to complete my apprenticeship to the highest standard. Along the way, I’d love to work with tourist attractions outside of the UK. My favourite animals are elephants, so I would love to work with elephant sanctuaries.
Share a fun fact about yourself.
A fun fact about myself: I love travelling on holiday and hot weather, I’m so much happier in the sun (mainly for the tan).
Can you highlight a project or initiative you’re particularly proud of?
I’m proud of my blog posts that I have written as that is an area I originally felt less confident with and I feel as though I am progressing with this skill.
